Gretsch Amplifiers: 6154 Super Bass

At 53 pounds and 70 watts (Class A, no less) the 6154 was not for the faint of heart or weak of back.

While Valco built it and Gretsch marketed it as a bass amp, like most of Valco's efforts at bass amplifers it really functions better as a guitar amp. In this particular case, a very loud, very heavy guitar amp.

From the rear view, note the split chassis and twin 12-inch Jensens.
