Okay, I'll play too... I posted this a while ago when I finished my pickguard for my G5125. It's polished aluminum with the logo sandblasted in. More picks if you want here:

My big orange Gretsch Guitar! 5120 with TV Jones classics, silver surrounds, and TV Jones wiring harness, Sperzel locking tuners, I customized the pickguard with orange logo and painted back black, painted f holes(final coat of tung oil makes the white paint shine, and tints the color to look like the rest of the binding), antique dice knobs (I made a few sets out of some old old dice I had for that vintage look), I made watermark decals using watermark paper and my inkjet printer. I like Felix the Cat, and found this vintage image of Mickey playing guitar and mouse dancing to the tune, and Betty Boop looking glamorous as usual. I played and kept the guitar stock for 6 months before deciding to make the changes. I wasn't trying to make it look like a 6120 (I don't mind the fact it is an Electromatic, darn fine guitars these 5120's) or anyone else's guitar. I just made changes I thought would improve the sound and appearance, to my ears and eyes. Stock I liked my 5120 a lot. Now, with these mods, I love it.

Welcome to the GDP unbridled :-) People here are so helpful and friendly, and a little bit nutty, which is just how I like em.
Hey Pete!... tic ... toc... tic... toc ...tic... toc ... :-) My 5120 (just like unbridled's) is 2 to 5 days from my doorstep. Yippee! tic...toc...tic...toc...... (and fingers crossed the freight guys are feeling gentle and calm and careful this week)

Thanks for the welcome Rose. Lots of great folks here and great information. I'm a bit of a nut myself.
Don't you hate waiting for stuff to come? It always seems like when they say "2-5 days" it always ends up being the 5 days. I hope it's the 2 days for you. Inspect it carefully if there is any sign at all of damage to the box.
I used to own a music store and learned the hard way about inspecting stuff. You should have no problems though because the companies that carry Gretsch are usually responsible.
Let us know when it comes and pics are required.

We're so new we haven't even thought of a name yet. We have a few possible ones, but nothing's stuck yet.
Yep...we'll probably heading to Lafayette eventually. We hope to be gig ready in about 2 months.
