I've only set up a couple of Dyna guitars but I found Mal Barclay's Set-up Guide to be indispensible. The section on Dyna set-up is about 2/3rds into the guide.
I found when I set the pickup height to his dimensions, the pole piece height could be set to almost nil and still have a good sound.
