She did at that - her co-development of "spread-spectrum technology", where coded messages hop frequencies to stay secret, is the basis of how cellular technology works today.
And you thought she was merely impossibly beautiful!

No more calls, we have two winners. Actually, I had no idea about Dennis Dragon. Voting you both up just because I can!

ooo err!
According to bio sources, Hedy was born in 1913.
My sister is going to love this... she's a serious fiend for old-time movies. Thanks Pro and I'm sure she'll want me to extend her thanks too. Excellent.
Aye, my compliments. It's just a great flick.
While you're at it, if you like drug smugglin' and Fred MacMurray before he was everyone's favorite suburban single father - along with another Madelaine - there's Borderline.
Deed you are too kind ... Google is such a boon it's it? :)
You know, I watch this movie, and my first reaction, almost word for word from inside my head, was, "I'd much rather watch this than something like 'Casablanca' because at least this could really happen." I feel so cynical.
My analysis comes from a slightly different angle because of my background in literature, and my first impression of this movie, though mostly for the cultural aspects with respect to detail and just the general understanding of the people and the times in which they live, the best comparison I can find for this movie is Henry James' "Portrait of a Lady."
The timelessness of studying, understanding, and reflecting upon the way the world once was, even if only in a region, tends to speak to me much more actively than some sex and violence B movie action flick, though they in themselves have their own cultural value...in a way...sort of...maybe.
This movie, though, is simply charming, and in the short version of all that junk above, you really just can't beat an old black'n'white film.

The two films aren't all that dissimilar; in style, at least. Can watch this one without adding any tin foil to the rabbit ears, too. Ahhh...an old-tyme movie with good Hedy. What else could a guy ask for?
A giant gorilla wrestling a T rex?
