The top one is the new Star Chief Model. Then the Hot Rod and the bottom is 4x10 bassman and a Deluxe. Not a groovy Echo Sonic but...

More details on the Star Chief and Hotrod?
Are they re-cabs, originals, what?

Its all "smoke and mirrors" as they say. The first is a Fender hot rod deville 2x12. The next is a Fender tweed blues deville 4x10. Both cosmetically modified by me to fit my taste and style. Obviously Gretsch inspired. Who would have thought my automotive skills would come in so handy..... You should see the new suit Im making for this weekends show....

Great job, Walt. Very, very coooool...indeed.
I'd be curious to know what make/model that gold/bronze car(?) is in background on the "Star Chief" shot. Almost looks like a Studebaker/Nash type doo-hickey. Chrome grille/bumper looks very '50s. Please advise. -Tux

Nice looking amps Walt!
Tux, the car looks like a '51 Merc. Should have chrome headlight bezels I think, unless Hotrodwalt customized them too!

The 2x12 has something very special about it. It really totally kills the 4x10 for all around sound, tone and growl. and smooth and warm. I been tweeking the 4x10 to match the other and mark it so its ready to go for a back up. I may also start bi-amping again out of my stereo delay. sounds huge.. but more crap to drag along to shows.
Im gonna debut my newly fashioned amps this weekend at our show here in Atlanta with Hillbilly Casino. Thanks for all the nice comments....
BTW... what does the vote up rating deal about?

Well, that puts that amp in a new light. I really like the Deville clean sound, but the gain/more gain option on that amp seems to be a waste.
I picture the 2x12 with a tweed covering, some leatherlike accents and wheatstraw grill. But I love your mod. Real nice work!

Hey Walt! Those look really nice..did a great job! Wondering, have you done the Silverface to Blackface mod on that 70's Fender? Its really easy CHEAP and might open up some tone for you.
Looks like you could make a buisiness outa custom amp coverings. I'd make some covers for them too, so they don't get beat up when your touring. Really Nice! Tim MBL
