I've wanted a smaller (AC15) Vox. My AC30CC1 is great, but really more than I need.
Then there's the Fender '57 RI TwinAmp. Can't say enough about it, but again, it's more than I need.
This '64 style AC15 is driving me nuts. I could get it if I sold the above amps, but, cutting loose with "good stuff" just isn't easy
To me it's better to have more than you need than to need more than you have. The hand wired craze is just that IMO. Just my .02 JD, Good luck!
I dunno... the AC15 is not just a half-sized AC30, in my experience. It distorts much easier and earlier, and delivers a rather different (but nonetheless good) sound than the AC30.
If you've investigated and know you want to make that sound, then there you go!
If not, I recommend you test-drive one before selling a kidney and an AC30.

If it were me, I'd keep what you got. That way, at least you have a backup. And if they're too loud? Get an attenuator of some sorts... Just my .02 worth...
JD, why don't you use the output cut feature on the AC30? There's a setting ont he back that allows you to run 20 or 22 watts instead of the 33 watts that the AC30 puts out anyway? I had some pretty good results with that lower output setting.
I'd look at getting an AC15 too if I were you! They are really cool. I especially like the blonde/white colored hand wired head version a lot!!!
I know it's not the 64 but you wouldn't have to sell too much to get it.
FWIW I have to give these folks their props. A few weeks back some dick tried to buy a macbook on my account and they caught it. notified me before processing! Can't ask for much more then that! Kudos!

You can boost or cut your mids on either channel, and the tone controls are wonderfully sensitive. The Celestion Blues are sweet, and it has a wife switch (cut to 7.5 watts) that keeps everyone happy. This can chime and it can roar, and pretty much everything in between. If you get a chance to test drive one, jump on it.

For a big box store these are good people so it seems. I've done pretty good with them and the last deal was my bass amp. Like most there's a few items that they're high on. You just have to keep walking past those!
Wenz, I'm using the 22 watt setting now, and the amp really can sound good at about any volume.
I guess the two channel ef86 thing, along with the power cut to 7.5 kinda intrigues me.
I had one of the "blondes" on pre-order when they were first coming out, but mother nature and the flooding changed my financial plans
I do know that I would probably kick myself if I cut loose with the '57 TwinAmp, they are so sweet.

I can say the re-issue ac15cc1 isn't a bad option :)
(and also the cheapest, but I could imagine being used to a ac30 or something it would kinda lack stuff)

JD - Have you considered the Custome Classic?
Unless of course you have to have hand wired or the white color...
