I let my keyboard player run through my old Challenger 30 watt amp from the early 50's at a gig last Sat. I started to smell something burning and looked over to see smoke rising from the amp! I went over and the big ole Can Cap had had a sticky goo bubbeling out the top and dripping down the sides. Time for a recap. Had to run her through the PA. That wouldn't have damaged any of the tubes would it? Allen

There's always a possibility that it took out one of the transformers. Take it to a tech and have it gone through. The filter caps were only supposed to last maybe ten years before being changed, less if it didn't get played.

Tubes are pretty tough and can take all kinds of abuse (for short periods of time)
I'd check all the resistors in the power supply part of the circuit. Even if the cap had not failed I'd check the resistance values while I had the chassis out of the amp. It is usually a pretty quick and simple thing to do
