My White Falcon LTV got a partner (=practicing amp) today! It's so new that I haven't tried it yet.
As you always request - here is the pic.

Cool VOX! I use Fender Vibro Champs as didn't really want to spend on pedals at this point, but think of Blues Jnr. in the future. You can see my guitar family here: Saturday Tale About Twins
What is it wrapped around the bottom arms of your guitar stand? Do you recon the black foam will react with the body? I put my Falcon in case every day as am still very carefull about marking it or otherwise.
Hey Sunshine,
Congratulations to you and the happy couple! Looks like you have all the ingredients for many pleasant hours of playing.
How are you getting along with the amp, several days in?
Where's your chord?
John
that should be a nice little practice amp for you. I've been looking at those myself. have fun trying it out.
brent
Phobos, you have really good looking "family of Gretsch" there (in your link). About the wrap - I'm extra careful with my Falcon LTV. There is nitro lacquer on that Falcon, so I don't want burnings or melting lacquer on that one. Just to be sure. BTW, thats gauze, wrapped on that foam.
JW, I forget the chord. That unforgivable, because I won a really great Fender Premium cable from "Gretsch Pages Trivia". I'm using it every where, because it the best I have.
Brent, my friend. As you probably already know... I've been playing the all weekend.
This amp is GREAT! I had some big hopes on this amp - but it was better than I expected. I planned to buy a tube amp in a first place, but I also wanted effects - and my wallet scream for this DA5. It's really good for practicing and I don't need any pedals to go with it.
The clean sounds are AMAZING and the blues sounds are really good. And this is everything I expected from this amp.
About the effects - I have to mention that I was totally impressed by the auto wah and the delay effects. The rockabilly slap back came very easily from this amp, I was really surprised.
The look of the Vox is very timeless and classic. And I love it!
Cheers! You know, VOX and Greatschs scream Beatles: sure you will spend many happy hours with these two.
Well done Sumshine. I think I may well consider getting one of those Voxs myself - my F50 Mesa is just a bit too big and too loud to be an ideal practise amp - and my Samick practise amp is - frankly - not so good at all.
Very Cool indeed.
I'm now a "home wanker" and should probably look into one of these more closely.
The last time I went down to buy a good practice amp, I came home with a Vox too.

My Falcon got a strap. Now it can't fly away.
Nice guitar & Vox, nice strap - but that pick Sunshine
That's from my wife. She is from Sweden... and we know the swedish people ;D
If you drop your pick, you'll always be able to find it. Where'd you get your amp? The DA-5CL, with the diamond grillecloth looks far better than the metal grille to me. Most of the ones I've seen were the metal version. I've been considering a DA-5 as the Pignose is just too snarly for me.
Oh i see, but i would NEVER let my wife play my guitars!
cielski said: Where'd you get your amp?I got my amp from Thomann. That's a European store, so I didn't need to pay any customs.
Strap I bought from USA, because European stores didn't want to order one for me. Most of the answers was that they cannot (want?) order, but one answer was "if you buy 100 pieces, then we can order". Of course I did pay customs because I bought outside EU but that was worth it.
