Who knew the woes of bridge making... If anything, now I'll have to come up with an origin story for the BR-160/Custom. "From the wastelands of middle America there rode a man... This is the story of his quest and of the True Arc that he gave unto the world..." [cue Lord of the Rings theme music]
I'll work on it...

Even if it had been working, considering how many safety warning stickers the lathe has on it, you know there's no way he could have hurt himself on that. Unless he cut himself on a safety warning sticker - they're known to have sharp edges.
Really, with as many safety warnings as that lathe has, I surprised there's anyone left in the Tru-Arc Mines who wants to run it. The manufacturer should probably just pay a lawyer to stand at the machine and smack your hands with a ruler if you try to use it.
Thanks for the glimpse into the workings of Tru-Arc, Proteus. Sorry you had such a run of bad luck on that trip.

Congrats on great planning and a great product!
Stupid question... we know that 'hollowing' out a solid body will change resonance.. and although the principles of the bridge are different.. what if your bridge design was hollow or semi hollow, or dilled out and 'filled' with a material more dense that its surrounding skin?

Sorry no pics or updates yet...lots of busybusy here (for one thing, my daughter is having a baby today).
I've taken a lot of process shots, and even recorded the sound of the machinery making bridges (in case anyone really has a thing about mechanical noises with classic rock playing in the background).
About 40 bridges in process at the moment, and I hope to take at least some home with me later this afternoon.
Cute guesses on the new metal, but so far no hits! You'll know it when you see it though.
Jim, we've thought about those possibilities, and intend to experiment some. Not this trip though...

It's LEAD
It's also "bendable", so the guitarist can adjust it himself to the proper neck radius.
Palm muting is not recommended

Prot just won't fess up yet.
