Henson's Music in Oxnard (CA), my home away from home during my sophomore year in college (this was about 1976), had a sunburst Starcaster, and it got a lot of play by staff and hangers-out like me. I don't think anyone ever bought it, though, before I went off to college elsewhere. We didn't take it all that seriously because we wanted to be Lee Ritenour and Larry Carlton and they played 335s. But as I recall, it played and sounded great, I think it had a master volume control along with a volume and tone for each pickup, for a whopping 5 knobs. When I see them come up on ebay, I'm always tempted, but the price always exceeds my budget fairly quickly (not hard to do these days). If you have a chance to score one, do it. Even if you don't like it, you shouldn't have trouble getting what you paid for it...oh wait, I forgot, the economy's in the tank. If you have a chance to score one cheap, do it. You won't have much trouble getting your money out of it if you have to unload it.
I also had a Coronado for a while. It wasn't wildwood, but it at least it was orange, and that should count for something on this board. It was like playing a 335 with a Strat neck. Pretty odd. The Starcaster was a much better guitar.
