how does it sound with TV's? I've been contemplating something like that with Ibanez Artcores, but don't really like their f-holes. Or maybe I could just put those thundertrons in my "beatle"-style bass.
P.S. And by "gretschized" I meant appearance (sorry).
This one is still in the process of being built so it's a work in progress at this time.
Pickguard is being redone with a decal by Paul Setzer this week and I still need to install a Don Mare Stingray Esquire triple tapped pickup in it. Should be done soon and I'll repost with more details.

The pickups aren't TVs, just plain ol' Bass Filters like you'd find on a Broadkaster bass. I presume the pickup itself may be a regular F'Tron with the poles covered up - there are two neat rows of six screws poking out the bottom plate. 
They seem to work well enough. Some day when I get over these brain parasites I may upgrade to Mr. Jones' new styles.
Thundertrons in a Hofner might just be too much funk for one man to handle.
Speaking of Dean guitars, here's a Palamino. I put a Bigsby B6 on it to replace the stock trapeze tailpiece, and I put an aftermarket Gretsch Bar Bridge on it. Eventually, I will have three Dynasonics in it (Maybe put a Fralin P-90 in the neck position, though). It's cool 'cuz it has 5-way Strat-style switching. I'm also going to get a chrome pickguard and chrome knobs, and install a Slip-Stone nut.

my "beatle" isn't a hofner - a cheap copy. you're probably right, though!

It is an archtop - the camera flash just makes it look flat.
(A problem the caboose in that other pic will never have to worry about.)

I "Gretschified" this Ibanez Artcore AG75 by adding TV Jones Classics, A Bigsby B6 w/Chet arm, chrome pearl topped knobs, a roller TOM saddle, and a pickguard I designed out of mother of toilet seat. It was another one I had to sell during my cash crunch of a couple of years ago but it did sound very Gretschy.
bear, that looks great. to let a secret out: i was especially interested in what people do for knobs. i don't want to pay for gretsch knobs (on a non-G guitar!) so I was curious about how other metal knobs look. you've helped! 
If you want knobs perhaps you should look at some flat-topped Tele knobs. They kind of look like the Gretsch ones but are generally a little smaller and missing the "G".
.... except that I need gold and GFS doesn't have them, but guitarpartsresource does. I like the ones with a "dot" on them. I'm just trying to see how they'll look.

Gawd, Kolls are my dream guitar. If I had the money, that's exactly the guitar I want!
I just installed the B7 on my ES-135 this past Saturday.
It might eventually get TV'Trons, though I'm not interested in changing the guitar's nature completely.
