Vince Gordon from "The Jime" wants to know...

I'm speaking with Vince Gordon, Leader of "The Jime". Those rockabilly cats in Denmark who among their rockin' CDs, also make the 'How to Play Rockabilly' eBooks and the 'Rockabilly Jam Tracks' we've very recently spoke about.

Vince just asked, "Many people have asked me for another Jam CD and also an instructional DVD. Could you tell me what you would like to see / hear?"

I thought I would help him out and pose the question to you?

We had previously spoken specifiacally about the Jam tracks and creating another with different keys, chord arrangements, and beats, being this current Jam Tracks CD is all in the key of A and each track has the same chord progression.

His question stretches across a Jam Tracks CD, Rockabilly DVD Instruction, the whole ball of wax.

What would you guys like to see/hear?

Do you remember the Reverend Horton Heat videos?

The Rev plays some really cool licks but you can't really see what he does. I'd like a DVD with those licks explained and a clear view of how it's played at different speeds.

I would also like to see some simple solo licks you can combine.

For te beginners: some stuff about gear and settings to get the tone. The fundamentals about the 4/4 beat and how to play the back beat. And something about dynamics.

How about some unconventional rockabilly-style licks? What about some simple approaches to the actual "theory" behind improvising in a rockabilly-based format? Throw in some of his signature licks, too. I've heard The Jime, and really liked 'em. This sounds like a good undertaking.

I've got his intermediate eBook and Jam CD (along with the latest JIME CD).

It's very good. As for what to do on a DVD, get Paul Pigat's DVD's and use that format for Vince's style.

He's been on here a few times. He got flamed a while back(years) for his seemingly self-proclaimed savior of rockabilly music...I think I did the flaming.

I just bought Vince's books. They are really great stuff for me. As a DVD, I'd like to see DVD built as:
1. show tabulature first
2. then show section as normal speed
3. then start to show the section slow (with the explanations of course)
4. And if it is a song - after that all the sections played normal speed in the end.
I have few videos built like this and they are very clear. Can't miss a thing.

And if you ask me - everything from the rockabilly, classic rock and country is ok.

I'm all for a Vince DVD. Make it with the same guys that did Paul Pigat's DVD, I love the way Paul's DVDs are laid out

I'd like to see Vince concentrate a little more on rhythm. show some different ways to accompany a rockabilly tune.

I love Vince and The Jime but what I really want more than anything is a DVD and book by Jim Heath.
