Proteus question asked for four amps: so what are they? The new E 1 knob, PB 6 knobs, Ex 7 knobs, and V has 7 knobs.

lol Thanks Mark! I was so excited, when I posted I didn't notice page 35. I thought there was only like 3 answers in front of me.
I didn't notice I was number 15 or so.
Congrats to whoever put 21 first, I think that's right. Unless it is a trick (because the Variety is discontinued) and 14 is right.
But hell, maybe there's four more phantom knobs somewhere and 25 is actually correct. I can hope!

yep- I think it is 21. I'm counting 7 on the Variety and Executive. 6 on the playboy. 1 on the Electromatic g5222.- I was late compared to all of you Quickdraw McGraw's.

Paul, I just went for the four larger amps. I don't think the 5 watter is in inventory yet, but you raise a good point.

The variety is no longer listed on the Gretsch site, so it's been discontinued. Therefore, 14 current production model knobs!

It's listed in their '08 catalog, I'm pretty sure it's still in production.

They only listed it there to try and sell off the remaining old stock!
Kind of like a car salesman. Wow, this thread has grown
I haven't been online almost at all today. Did Proteus find out if TV Jones is planning on making dynasonics?

I think he's counting the G5222, the Playboy, Exec, and Variety, since he showed them all before in pics.
Rex, aren't there only 3 larger amps?

Boyko, I think that there is another Executive that has a 15" speaker rather than 3 - 10" speakers. Only three names though, Playboy, Executive and Variety.

Proteus, I just went through every page since my last visit earlier this morning and I don't think the questions I had have been answered, unless I'm blind?
What's with the new Gretsch Straps? Can we get a more details description of what they look like or what the pictures appear to be on them?
Also, is is isn't TV Jones planning on making dynasonics? Sorry if I sound pushy, not intending to, just asking! Thanks Tim, you are doing a wonderful job there!!!

Proteus, can you ask Joe or Fred if they will ever consider releasing the Setzer model gretsch's or any other in that awesome red or silver sparkle that he had one off'd? I'd seriously buy one of those if they were available the day they were released... Thanks Proteus and sorry to bug you, but now is the best time ever to ask I would guess...
Of course you know I am referring to this guitar right??? Photo courtesy of http://www.briansetzer.com

Today was a good day for me. I ran into my Gretsch-dealer-sponsor and learned he's getting one of the gold 6120s. So if I can beat the store's well-heeled clientele to it, I might get to at least play it even if I can't buy it. He's also getting in a relic DuoJet, and a supply of 5222s. I had him put me down for one of those.
I brought my son with me to the show today and was touched when he asked to see the Gretsch booth (he's a metalhead, and a bass player at that). On the way into the parking garage, I spotted this license plate on a Honda Element:
Yes, the Element was orange. If I'd have taken a better picture of this, I'd make a T-shirt out of it.

When we got to the booth, I got this shot of Joe returning the goldie to its glass case:
It looks like he's in the case with it, but he's really just standing behind it. He enlisted my help in making sure it was standing up straight. I felt honored.
Didn't get much more time in the booth as we had to leave early to watch the U.S. Men's National Team whoop up on them yellow-card-garnering Swedes 2-0 (7 yellow cards in a "friendly?" Yikes).
One more day of the show, and then it's back to work. Sigh.

Our team did a really mediocer match. But 8 yellows are (5 Swe - 3 US), i agree, too many in this friendlys.
The referees efforts as reported in swedish media are not printable on the GDP
