Boyko, they win a T-Shirt, some stickers and a CD of my band that uses Gretsch guitars exclusively!!! Well, except for the occasional 1966 vintage guild!

Nice Wenz! I was reffering to Price is Right, where the announcer always says what the contestants have won. But, very cool prize indeed.
Proteus, you need to get back here! I'm really wired, waiting to hear the answer! haha.
PS I think we can make an exception for Guilds. But just because you rock so hard.

Why doesn't Gretsch buy us all tickets to go hang out down there and start our own band. Heck, we may become the next Beatles!!!

So looks like everyone is waiting for Proteus to get back from lunch with his music buddies.
To kill time, heres a question. What is everyone most excited about for this year's NAMM?
Me, its a look at the Electromatic amp, some cool celebrity sightings, and really just more of Proteus's posts.
What about you guys and gals?

I am enjoying looking at the weezer replica van halen guitar. It looks just like Rivers Cuomo's replica of Van Halens guitar! I wonder if weezer designed it??? Thanks Proteus! Boyko, thanks for being cool tonight too!

I'm excited to see that Gretsch seems to be successful and is able to expand their lineup. I'm also excited that their hand-wired amps are going to be featured more prominently. I'm not personally all that excited with new products coming out but that's only because my quiver is full and I'm very satisfied with my Gretsches. That is until I save up enough money to buy another one.

I just generally like to admire guitars of all shapes and sizes. Especially Gretsch's, but all in general. I enjoy reading about the mods you guy's have done to yours also. I think this is great that Gretsch has given Proteus a "backstage pass" so to speak, to be able to give people like myself a peek at a show I know I would never otherwise be able to enjoy. Kudo's to Gretsch and to Proteus for sharing.
Thanks, Dave

Oh, and looking at the Jets, so I can have my dream guitar. The relic looks ok, but kinda looks like someone had their greasy fingers on it, and its just smudged.
And thanks Wenzel, I'm really enjoying this NAMM, but I'm getting tired. It's 12 AM here, and I have school tomorow. Ha, I'll stay up a bit longer.

Proteus: (EDITED: irrelevant discussion regarding bandwidth concerns deleted -- thankfully all back to normal now!)
Anyhoo, since I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to hop by and compliment you on this FANTASTIC show coverage; really well done so far and I'm looking forward to reading more.
We'll see you back here in the "web den" for more fun tomorrow. :-)

Proteus:
I stand (well, I'm sitting now because my feet are tired from walking the show all day) in awe. Outstanding coverage and photos. I looked for you today but didn't see you, and couldn't remember your real name so I didn't know who to look for. I'll be there tomorrow, look for the guy who looks like Joe Pass' illegitimate son, or Dr. Phil's fat brother, and that'll be me. Then I can take that picture of you I promised.
Now then, I have a few pictures as well.
The David Lee guitar is a beauty. Much as I like my glitter Falcon binding, this black on white is classy and cool:
Here are a couple shots of the Electromatic amp. I need one of these:
Here's the man. This guy never stops. He went from phone call to question answering, to demonstration, and he never had to stop to think. And he's still smiling:
My interspersing of commentary between pics got messed up somehow, so here's what follow: Someone mentioned Jets. Here's a Jet Set:
Here's the 125th Annnie Display:
Wall o' Gretsches:
Oh, and in addition to an Electromatic amp, I NEED one of these, too (an orange Deluxe):
I'll be down in Hall E for most of tomorrow, so I'll ask the TV Jones folks about whether they plan on ever making Dynasonics. If you need anything else that Proteus may not have time for, lemme know and I'll see what I can do.

Rex said: Being from the analog era, What the hell does that mean??
It's all magic.
OK, simply this. An Internet connection can only pass through a cetain amount of data. If you exceed that amount things will get ugly. Pages won't fill properly, streaming audio and video will get jerky. It's sort of like all three of the Stooges trying to get through a door at the same time, nobody gets through.
He also mentioned a data allocation. This may mean that they get only so much bandwidth per month and then they are shut down, sort of like having a cell phone that quits working when you use up all of your minutes for the month.

Well if they where linked to this thread I think Wenzel, Pappy(Good 2CU posting Pap!), Mark and Boyko locked it up!
I had to wade thru(filter) all of that just to read Proteus post and see what was happening with NAMM.
Can we keep it NAMM oriented fellas?
Great sound clips BTW Proteus.
