Sorry for your loss Farmer. It's great that you worked and learnt from your dad. Most dads these days work far from home and don't see their kids enough. I am the main carer at home with my three boys and your description of your dad inspires me.

I think of my Dad a lot. We talked a lot about sports. So again, when the Celts won the NBA championship, I thought of how I used to call him and we would celebrate the win by cheering each other over the phone.
But I must say, unlike many people I have heard, I have never had the sense that he was still "around" (in a spiritual sense). If there is an afterlife, you couldn't prove it by me. As far as I know, he only lives on in our memories (tough for me, I don't have any kids).

We laid my father to rest this afternoon, in the cemetary of the church where he grew up, a mile or so from the farm he was raised on, we had a beautiful service and it was so nice to see him resting in peace. Thanks for all the nice comments and prayers from all you folks.
