So I'm pretty new 'round these parts, and I'm getting to know some dudes on here. By the way, this has got to be the coolest forum on the web, at least the coolest one I'm on.

Regardless, tell me about yourself. Brag! Make stuff up! I'm just curious about where everybody came from (socially and physically) and what comprises the general populace on this here board.

Some questions I had floating in my head include name (first only is cool obviously), age, job, where you live, kinda car you drive/interests - you know, that kind of stuff. So I'll start:

My name is Andrew Lundeen and I'm about 21 years old. Live in San Pedro CA, but I go to school at UC Santa Cruz. Well, I should have graduated but I jerked around and now I'm behind in credits. Hopefully in about 6 months I'll have my degree. I work for America's largest tropical fish distributor here in Los Angeles when I'm home. My shoe size is 13, and my jacket size is 48. 5'11", 215 pounds. First car is my little '64 Falcon - which you guys have heard too much of.

Besides Gretsch, I spend all damn day buying and selling things. I'm addicted to eBay. That's not entirely a bad thing though because I've made a few thousand off of it. Buy a guitar for $500, sell it for $700. Rinse/repeat. Not enough to feed kids, but it is enough to fuel my Gretsch obsession. The last guitar I really wanted to buy was an old Jazz box, and I got that with The '38 (the old 1938 Gretsch somethinerother). The next guitar I'll be buying is a mid to late 50s Country Club/Duo Jet/Anniversary/6120. Saving up at the moment.

Alright so that was long-winded. You all go now. Excite me! Lie to me! Or hell, bore me if you want. I just want to hear about the other dudes on here. Because, this place has (unequivocally) the coolest 'clientele' (as it were).

Name is Karl and it all started in a little log cabin in fresno,....no, just kidding. I am originally from the CT/NY area played in a lot of bandds up that way. I currently reside in Northern Ky and when me divorce is finalised I may make my way back to CT. I drive a Cherokee Jeep. Work for a Windows/Door/Sidin & Gutter Company. Played Gibson ES-335's for a long time until 9 Year's ago when I found my first GreTsch and it has been GreTsch ever since.
I too buy/sell on Ebay alot. I usually buy and sell old toy's Vintage GI Joe and stuff to also feed my GreTsch obsession. I need to get into a band again, I need a pair of Beatle Boot's. Im a little rusty not being able to play alot during my marriage fiasco. I am itching to play in a band again. Love the Beatle,Monkees, Raiders most 60's band's, Setzer, Stay Cat's early Elvis and his '68 come back.

I have a Country Gent, A 5122 Electromatic and am wanting to get another Nashville to replace the one I had to sell. GreTsch guitar's are an amazing Instrument! I cannot see myself ever giving them up for anything else (Not that there's anything wrong with that!). Ok, I think I am done,..oh, size 10 shoe

I think in the next 5 guitars I get is going to be an early 50s 335/355. That one the dude on here just got is positively inspiring. What colors were yours? Natural?

Howdy, I'm Carlos Moran, I'm From Kansas, I'm 17, I'm a Senior in High School, and I'm mainly a Musician.

I play a combination of Rockabilly, Country, Surf, Punk, Folk.

I mainly just play by myself at Art shows, With my guitar and mic in the same amp.

I used to spend most of my time chasin' women, but now mainly I lead a dull, Lackluster love life.

It gets better in Winter.

I read alot, and I write some.

I like to travel. I love being on the road.

Summers are not my forte. Things get slow. And hot.

I smoke Camel Unfiltereds.

I like to take things apart.

I like to piece them back together.

Most people call me Old Man.

I tell them to Piss Off.

I have a knack for sleeping in parks.

You just got to find the right spot.

I don't have a religion.

I used to be Catholic.

Until I went to Catholic School.

They hated me.

I didnt care.

I don't drive.

I walk.

I weigh 150, and wear size ten shoe.

That's a great post, well written.

I didn't drive until recently, because I couldn't afford (or didn't want to afford) the insurance/gas. And I too love taking things apart and putting them back together!!! Boy I love that.

I'm Catholic too by the way. Went to Catholic High School as well, but only because the alternative was enrolling in the Los Angeles Unified School District (San Pedro High). No dice.

I smoke cigars, Casa Fuente is my current favorite.

By the way, I think I'm coming out to California next year, I might check out San Pedro, I know a gal there.

Cigars arent my thing, I used to work with a guy who spent over 500 a month on cigars alone.

Although, I do enjoy the very cheap ones. Except the ones with filters, those are just the most atrocious things ever made by man.

Man Created Sin when He created Smokers Choice. And Virginia Slims.

I think those R&D teams behind those projects were asleep at the wheel at that one.

I spend about $20/month on them. If that. Probably not even that much. A few cheapies a month, and one good one (~$30) a few times a year. Ones with filters are indeed Satan's work.

I'm Mitch my claim to fame around here is that Zuma was/is my big brother. I'm also a Jew. Not on purpose though. I have a degree in music from the famed Berklee School Of Music. Now I fix computers.

I grew up and live in the Chicago Suburbs.

I started out as a drummer at age 3 then guitar at age 10. I still play both. All thanks to Zuma! What a great Big Brother he was.

He bought me a 1964 Country Gentelman for my 16th birthday. It cost $290.00. I traded it for a Rick, then for a Les Paul then for a 65 Tennessean. Which I don't have anymore. I now have a new Falcon, Penguin, Anniversary, Wild West, and a Martin D-45

I collect Beatles Memorabilia. My collection is vast and cool. Incuding a Butcher Cover and a Can't Buy Me Love picture sleeve. 2 of the holy grails of Beatles collecting.

I talked to George Harrison On the phone once during the Rockline radio show.

I'm originally from Schenectady, NY. Grew up in the '50's. It wasn't like Happy Days.

Went to High School in Boston, where we played whiney Folk songs at coffee houses during The Great Folk Scare of the '60's (Hootenanny was on TV, et al).

My brothers and I all did a hitch in the service. Two of us went to Vietnam.

After the service I knocked around the country for a while as a siesmic technician (explosives and electronics) before coming to Cailfornia as a musician.

Joined the Union. Wanted to play Jazz in the worst way (now, I do)!

What's your Retriever's name/sex? In 24 minutes, I'm going to the pound to see my buddy. He's a Retriever named Riley and I want to adopt him, but he's not available until Thursday. On Thursday, I'll be there at 8AM (unless God-forbid he gets claimed by someone). I mean, I'd be happy for him and his owners, but it's been two weeks. If it takes them that long, then what the hell's the problem!?

I sure hope he's still there when I get there. Yeesh I'm nervous.

We got at least three things in common. In life, I've found that to be just about enough.

I'm a Catholic, too. It's like being in a club you just can't be blackballed from, try as you might. I owe many years of dues, but it just won't let me be. It's the guilt. Catholicism's greatest gift to its members.

I keep tropical fish. Got this Opaline Gourami. It's survived everything and is chief of the tank. He's a benevolent leader. Has the bizarre and benign habit of helping the other fish when they're in trouble. Like when the tank members got fin rot, he brought food to the sufferers. He was the only survivor. Strange that even a fish looks after his flock. This behavior in Gouramis has been documented, check it out.

I call my step-daughter Big Al. Really. She's eleven and is a good egg.

I said at LEAST three things. We got one more. I just got a dog from the pound, like you're going to. Her name is Pip. Can't believe how good this little unloved mongrel has turned out to be.

Music is the love of my life. It earns my living and brings all the joy I need. I'm 37, 5'1" and weigh 110lbs.

Don here in Kentucky, age 59, life long farmer, 6'4" tall, 2 children and one grand daughter, married for 37 years this year. I have a BS degree in Agronomy, my interests besides guitars are farm toys and antique farm tractors and machinery. Chevy pick-ups and Trail Blazers for me.

I had one of the first Setzer 6120's. The tiger striped laquer early 90's. Having the Anniversary is just as good as a 6120 if you're color blind

My Golden's name is Comet. (Not because of Full House) Male 5 years old. I hope you get your guy.. Retrievers are truly a gift from God. No better companion dogs.

Somehow my alt key got activated and posted multiple times! Sorry 'bout that.

Anyway Al, the local JC was Cabrillo College.

So, last week I played a Jazz job at Cafe Mare (Front St.), and a Rock gig Fri nite at The Catalyst in the main room.

But mostly I have played Showtunes and Standards gigs for about double scale, until it all dried up a couple years ago.

And of course here in Santa Cruz, real musicians have day jobs. So I have raised the family and paid for the house and cars by working as a mechanic in the public sector, and now in private sector industry.

I drive a Ranger and my wife's Buick.

I used to have interest in camping, motorcycles, and guns. But now I'm just a burned out ol' geezer!

You'll be where I am in just a minute!

P.S. Al, to answer your question: I was a Counter Insurgency Advisor in-country near Cam Rahn Bay (II Corp). Brown Water Navy.
