I will always love Gretsch guitars most - its just in my blood. I have never had the opportunity to play a really perfect condition vintage 59 or 60 6120. My '07 6120 is a close to perfection as any guitar I have ever owned and that includes a bunch.
However .... the most perfect guitar I have ever had the privilege of playing is this one and I hope to be able to add one to my collection some day.
I have had folks tell me it is just a glorified ES335 or an semi-hollow SG or Paul. I had an opportunity to play one in Austin a few days ago and I can assure you it is none of those. It is a unique guitar with a feel and tone all its own. I sure wish Gibson would release a non-signature version of it!

i can't winnow it down to any one electric guitar...they're all limited to more or less the same degree, no one can replace any of the others, and none can touch all the bases of the way i play. i suppose if i HAD to choose one, it'd be a Strat similar to the first of my parts-o-casters: alder, two-tone burst, '56 RI neck, '54 RI pickups. i know how to get 70% of the tones i like out of that setup. my perfect acoustic guitar would be one of the big-bodied Lowdens, spruce over rosewood; i'd happily dump all my acoustics save maybe the Blueridge D-18oid for that.
