I saw it yesterday. Fortunately being unemployed means I can see a movie during the week during the noon hour and not have to mess with crowds, especially living in the suburbs there aren't as many people packing the movies like you would have in Hollywood or something or West Los Angeles. But being unemployed means being broke so there is a trade-off. Okay I'm working on some business stuff so if all goes well the money will be a flowing like milk and honey from the promise land. Where is the biblical quote on that?
Okay now that's out of the way, it's a great movie. It was awesome. It's a must see.

low what about it did you not like? Was it not interesting and didn't it keep you wanting to know what was next? I didn't think it was very predictable. I know a lot of people like it but not everyone will.

I thought it was great. Way better acting than a Batman movie deserves to have. There was not one bad performance in the movie. Great acting and directing and a far better script than the one for Batman Begins. It was the best comic book movie I've seen in a long time.
I loved it.

John well said. I agree totally what you said. Also the choice of having Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman was an excellent choice for the last and this one. He's perfect for the role. Well, Michael Caine, they could not have had a better Alfred. Michael Caine is classic. He's great. The late Heath Ledger was excellent as well. Gary Oldman did a great job of not looking like Gary Oldman, or the makeup people did. They chose well with him. I like Maggie Gyllenhaal better in this one than Katie Holmes in the previous movie. Well done.

I saw it and thought it was well done. I went with my brothers who are comic geeks. We all enjoyed the film, them a little more than me, but overall I think it was a good flick. A little long at 2 hours 35 mins but it has enough action to keep the pace going. If you're not a Batman/DC/Comic Geek you'd likely enjoy it just as much on DVD when it comes out as you would going to the theatre. If you're die hard comic guy/gal it's probably worth waiting in a line up to see it at the theatre.

Lowbrow we want opinions, or we want you to can it. Do ya got me? I can come on here, almost kinda say something maybe bad about something any time of the day. But I don't, I have better things to do and so should you. Now do you have something to say, or do you want to keep bullsh!tting around?
I haven't seen the movie, I poked around here to see what non-rabid comic book fans thought of it.

I saw it last sunday. I've mentioned to a few people I did not like it and have been set upon every freaking time.
I am not a comic geek and never have been.
It was poorly acted, poorly written, poorly edited. It was a disjointed story line, the characters where not properly developed. It had none of the redeeming qualities a good film has.
In short, it was excruciating.

I enjoy wathcing on YouTube the old episodes of the early 1940s Batman series. Love seeing the Edward G Robinson type of thugs go up against Batman. That's really entertaining.

I liked it. I saw the last couple movies on TV this week and it's been a few years. The Dark Knight was much more serious than the old ones. I thought it was cool, much more of an adult movie than a kid one. I didn't like the look of the car much, but that's just me.

It was EPIC. I saw the midnight showing, and it was just EPIC.
The best part of the film: Heath Ledger's performance.
Probably the most demented, horrifying, just incredibly amazing performance I have ever seen. That wasn't Heath Ledger you saw up on the screen--it really was the Joker. Ledger so completely became the Joker, there were actually times where I found myself just being genuinely terrified by him on-screen.
He played the best Joker that I've ever seen. More demented than the one on TV voiced by Mark Hamill. Crazier than the Joker played by Jack Nicholson. Just so much more demented than any of the other Jokers I've ever seen. It was just so close to the comic book, it really felt like you were in some crazed comic book world.
Batman totally kicked tail. He kicks Iron Man's metallic butt, he kicks The Hulk's radioactive butt, he kicks Hellboy's demonic butt, he kicks (dare I say?) Wall-E's cute, metallic butt, and the Joker in this movie kicks the butts of every Joker before him, and I just have to add that Ledger deserves that posthumous Oscar.

I saw it. I Loved it. I am a Batman fan since way back, so I may be biased.
If you're looking for Cesar Romero or even Jack Nicholson type performing Clown as a villain though, you may be disappointed.
This was one of the darker movies(especially for the comic book genre) I've seen in a long time. No happy endings and sunsets here. The only joy I felt out of it was that it was an excellent take on what I hope will lead into Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" which should be even darker.
Ledger's Joker was undeniably creepy, cold, and maniacal like I've rarely seen on screen.
My main criticism would be of Christian Bale's voice while he is wearing the costume. He sounds like a 800 lb, constipated goat. It just made me laugh in an otherwise bleak movie.
Please don't let my description of Bleak turn you away from this film though.
Blade Runner was Bleak, and it's one of my favorite movies.
As a father and grandfather, I'm obliged to go to see many, many kids movies. This, I was happy to see, is most definitely not for small children.
I disagree with Lowbrow on several points, and feel compelled to address his comments, but this is opinion only here. Don't take anything I say as a personal attack.
It was poorly acted:
Compared to what? Are you a fan of any other Batman movies? This, to me, is one of the better acted movies I've seen in a while, and by far the best acted of the Batman movies(Which isn't saying much)
poorly written: Once again, I can't agree on that statement. It had Batman written as an anti hero, so even in victory, there is no parade. True, I've heard better script's in lessor movies, but this is not poor writing, it's just not Shakespeare.
poorly edited. I'm not a huge fan of American "action" editing, but I thought better editing might have propelled the story a bit faster, but then again, it may have taken away from it's dark place if it was all fast action
It was a disjointed story line, the characters where not properly developed.
I think this movie assumes that you don't need to be spoon fed origins of characters, and thank the Lord they didn't. Think how long the movie would be then! I felt the story line progressed smoothly, but with turns and surprises.
It had none of the redeeming qualities a good film has.
I suppose, if you're looking for a Frank Capra film, then yes. It has many of the redeeming qualities a Great film possesses: Quality acting, Unforgettable characters, and a good script.
Whether it is a great film, time will tell.
In short, it was excruciating.
At it's worst, I thought it was a tad long, but I can't think of anything that could have been removed to make it shorter. My family and those around us all agreed that it was thoroughly entertaining, with some positively exhilarating scenes which we are still talking about.
...And this is why they have Chocolate and Vanilla...

I saw it Sunday, the theater was packed but it was worth it. I didn't even stand in line for more than 3 minutes either.
It was a great movie. I'd even go see it again, and I'm not a huge Batman or movie fan really. Sure I like comics a bit but from seeing all the bad Batman movies through the years I wasn't expecting much, even though Batman Begins was pretty good. This movie rocked, I thought it was well laid out. Only issue I think someone could have is they kinda had parts where it would have helped to have seen Batman Begins. But my mom watched it with me and she followed right along. The film was a bit long, but not boring. I'd be willing to watch an extended edition if it had more Joker in it.
And yea, Ledger and the Joker, just wow. Thats all I can say without possibly spoiling it for people.

First off, YOU NEED TO SEE IT IN IMAX! A good portion of the film was filmed with IMAX equipment. It's stunningly gorgeous on the IMAX screen. If anyone has Blu-ray, it's like the first time you saw that picture. Everyone is entitled to their opinion however sophomoric it may be. (Lowbrow has a Batman Stick up his butt.)
As someone who has a Degree in Music and a second in film, (From a Big 10 University no less) I am uniquely unemployed but I do know good film making. This film had excellent Cinematography, Editing, and was well scripted.
2 arsses up from me!

I think he sounded that way because it was Bruce Wayne trying to sound different so no one recognizes he voice therefore him. If he sounded like Bruce Wayne the cat, ooops, I mean the "bat" would be out of the bag and everyone would know Batman is Bruce Wayne.

DeArmond,
I knew I'd get razzed for that, but it is a funny voice.
Next time you see it, think of an Evil Yoda, or Tom Waits as Batman.

Crowbone, thanks for reminding me. The voice seemed a little out of character, but it's just nitpicking for me. The length didn't bother me, if it's a good movie I'll sit through it.
