Sassy, My Tele "Leona" is a real sweetheart. She has been modded a lot. In fact the only remaining stuff that came with her originally is the neck, body and pickguard. Everything else has been changed.

Personally I love Tele's.....And I love Bigsby's......
But for me the two dont go well together.
I owned a 69 Tele with factory Bigsby. Cool guitar to look at but no way near as good sounding as my other (a 67). I have played different Tele's with Bigsby's on them over the years but in general think a Tele sounds much better with the normal 3 saddle bridge and the Bigsby makes the guitar go out of balance.

You can actually use a Bigsby with the regular 3 saddle bridge though, can't you?

probably but the factory originals can with a rocking 6 bar bridge which IMO stinks
Never tried a B16 which looks extremely cool and has the fixed bridge - but since it is so massive I think the balance thing will probably be worse
I am perfectly happy with a Tele just as it was meant to be - no Bigsby ;-)

Frank,
My friend has a reissue Telecaster equipped with a B16 and he is impressed with it.
However, I have a feeling you may well be right regarding Telecasters and Bigsbys' i.e. maybe they are better kept apart.

Drew

I actually prefer the tone of my Tele with Bigsby more than before I installed it. I get a lot more sustain and sharper attack without the brittleness. Teles can be harsh and the Bigsby seems to tame some of that. Of course, the style of music one plays also comes into focus on what sounds best.
