Thanks crowbone- She's got her own blues project too (w/ Jim, our bass player) called the Pauline York Band and has 4 records of her own under her belt. We were gigging as just a three piece instro band and having a tough time finding singers (we tried out many) and Jim mentioned that she would be interested.
She was only with the group for a few months before we recorded this record (she joined in Jan. and we started recording in April).
You just reminded me that I have to update the site with her bio info:)
Thanks Brent! Hopefully we'll be back in MN soon before it get too cold

Thanks Rocketman- Its my 6120-60 and my B16 equipped Tele w/ Fender Custom Shop SCN pickups- all running through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
Bigal- Thanks, I love the TV Powertron/ Savals Tele The neck is killer and it sounds great through my Standel and my Fender. I'm still trying to figure out where the parts are from though. I don't think I'll be getting rid of it, but if I do I'll let you know!

I thought your band was really good as an instrumental band, but I've got to say that adding her as a singer took the band up a notch for me. It gives the band more variety and depth. I really like "Goodbye"; good twangy guitar, good singing and a good song.

ya the singer is very good. alot of great bands are ruined by a horrible singer. I probably lean more towards being a fan of instrumental bands than anything else and it's very rare i like a female singer. Something about the timbre of alot of female singers voices just irritates me but not her, its very smooth and soothing.

Thanks AJ! I kinda felt that we needed to add a singer. We all wanted to do more varied types of material and none of us could sing well enough to do the job. It's also VERY hard to book an instrumental only band at many venues and make any solid money. Most folks don't want to hear instrumental rock'n'roll for 2 or three sets and multi-band gigs don't bring in much money. Our live sets are still however around 60% instrumental.
Twang- I was leery about a female vocalist as well (I sort of feel the same way at least with regards to roots genres), but it worked out great.
IMO many of the female singers in the "Rockabilly" scene seem to rely more on vintage cloths and looks and less on knowing how to sing.

Leisurama is a great great tune. Your singer is fantastic also. There was a point on the second song on your myspace where I thought I was listening to Janis Joplin... over rockabilly. Great stuff, my friend.
