augie1's Bio
Born in 1963, got first Gretsch guitar in 1977 (a 1959 Double Annie), love at first strum. Also play Dan-O's when I need that real lo-fi thing to happen (Own 5 Reissues, 2 Vintage models), vintage Gibson's when I need P90 growl.
Current #1 Gretsch is actually a reissue, a 2004 Green Double Annie with mud switch and bridge volume pot removed, master volume rewired with treble bleed, neck volume now a tone knob, all rewired inside with Allesandro pots, hi-fi caps, cloth covered wire and silver solder baby. USA Bigsby, TonePros bridge, Sperzels and stays in tune forever. Oh, yeah - It sounds better than my '59!
